The North is also home to the First Nations and Inuit people whose ancestors developed rich cultures as they have lived in harmony with the land for thousands of years. The people of the North are as diverse as the land they call home. For many non-native people the North has become home. They have come to work in resource industries or as teachers, miners, or as health care professionals. Many have come in search of one of the last great wilderness frontiers. Most northern people live in communities separated from each other by hundreds of miles. With no roads, airplanes are the transportation link for the people and villages of the North. They carry people. They carry supplies. And in the North On Eagle's Wings uses airplanes to carry the Gospel.
